About Us and Recent Accomplishments
TVRL is a Non-Profit organization created to support the preservation of the Temecula trails and rural lifestyle for future generations.
TVRL's
Board of Directors
is comprised of community leaders
with broad community involvement
and a wide range of expertise
and backgrounds.
With the help of the community, and the support of Riverside County, TVRL has been able to make headway on implementing the County-Approved Wine Country Trails Network.
2024 Accomplishments
- Creation of the CAMINO DE LOS CABALLOS TRAIL – a 1 mile segment that runs along the north side of Anza Road between De Portola Road and Highway 79.
- Grading, dedication and maintenance of the KenTina TRAIL – that runs along Los Caballos Road from near 79S to Pauba Road.
- Securing of funds for grading, staking and fencing of a 1 mile segment along the west side of Pauba Road from Los Caballos Road to De Portola Road, creating a 2.5 hour ride around the perimeter of the Valle de los Caballos.
- Second annual SAVE WINE COUNTRY TRAILS Fundraiser and awarding of Trailblazer Award to Glenn Leisure and Melanie Huelson, RCHA members/leaders who have restored and created miles and miles of trails at nearby Vail Lake Resort, so equestrians can ride in that beautiful natural setting.

2023 Accomplishments
- Grading, Staking, Fencing and Dedication of the PAT OMMERT TRAIL – a 2.7 mile segment along De Portola Road, from Anza Road to Shiraz Way. Makes riding along De Portola Rd safer as riders head up toward the De Portola Wineries and to Oak Mountain Road that leads back to the Vail Dam.
- Inaugural SAVE WINE COUNTRY TRAILS Fundraiser and first Annual Trailblazer Award presented to Pat Ommert, local legend and National Cowgirl Hall of Famer who launched and led the movement for the establishment of trails in the Temecula Valley since the 1960's, as the leader of Rancho California Horsemen’s Association.
2022 Accomplishments
- Collaborated with Rancho California Water District (RCWD) to open a vital connector trail coming off of De Portola Road at Shiraz Way, and leading to Oak Mountain Road, to create off-road access to the trail leading back to the Vail Dam.
-New signage to be added once RCWD's construction is finished.
